About the Author
Dorothy Bates is a former home economist and successful realtor. Author of 9 books, she lives in rural Tennessee where she conducts culinary workshops and works part-time as an investment counselor. She is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.

Albert K. Bates, the son of Dorothy Bates, is a retired public interest attorney and author of 6 books on energy, environnment, and history. He currently travels, lecturing and teaching permaculture and village design for the Global Ecovillage Network.
